Introduction:

The ketogenic diet, or keto diet for short, emphasizes low-carb and high-fat eating habits. One key to success on this popular diet is having a variety of delicious and nutritious keto snacks on hand to help curb cravings, sustain you between meals, and provide essential nutrients. In this article, we’ll explore some of the best keto snacks available that can be found on CNET’s Health & Nutrition section.

1. Cheese crisps:

Cheese crisps are a tasty and convenient option for those following a keto lifestyle. Made from baked or fried cheese, these crispy treats come in many flavors and provide an excellent source of both protein and healthy fats.

2. Nuts and seeds:

High in protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients like magnesium and vitamin E, nuts and seeds make an ideal keto-friendly snack. Some of the most suitable choices include almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and chia seeds.

3. Avocado:

Rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, avocados not only offer a creamy texture that can satisfy your cravings but also pack essential nutrients like potassium and fiber. Enjoy avocado slices with a sprinkle of salt or mash one into homemade guacamole for a delicious keto snack.

4. Olives:

Low in carbs but full of flavor, olives can be a delightful addition to your keto snacking routine. They’re also an excellent source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.

5. Dark chocolate:

Eating dark chocolate is allowed on the keto diet since it is low in sugar and carbs when compared to milk chocolate. Opt for dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content to indulge in its rich taste while taking advantage of its antioxidants and other health benefits.

6. Berries with heavy cream:

While most fruit is too high in sugar to be considered keto-friendly, berries are a welcome exception. A small serving of strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries topped with whipped heavy cream can satisfy any sweet tooth while still adhering to ketosis principles.

7. Veggie sticks with dip:

Crunchy vegetables such as cucumber, bell pepper, and celery make fantastic keto snacks when paired with high-fat dips like guacamole or cream cheese. Raw vegetables are not only low in carbohydrates but also offer essential vitamins and minerals.

Conclusion:

Staying true to the ketogenic lifestyle means making smart snacking choices that align with your dietary goals. By keeping these tasty and nutritious keto-friendly snacks in mind, you’ll be better equipped to stay on track and enjoy the benefits of this popular diet plan.
