Terror enthusiasts know that when it comes to curated collections of horror, Shudder stands supreme. The streaming platform, dedicated to all things frightening, chilling, and thrilling, offers a catalog that ranges from classic horror hits to independent and foreign films that have snuck through the mainstream cracks. Here are some of the best horror films that you can stream on Shudder right now.

“The Wailing” – This South Korean gem mixes mystery, drama, and supernatural horror into a compelling story about a policeman who investigates a series of bizarre events and illnesses in a small village. With its slow-burn tension and atmospheric terror, “The Wailing” keeps viewers glued to their screens until the shocking conclusion.

“Mandy” – Starring Nicolas Cage in a performance that is as unhinged as it is unforgettable, “Mandy” is a phantasmagoric tale of love and revenge. Set in 1983, Cage’s character embarks on a bloody quest to hunt down the deranged cult that destroyed his peaceful life with Mandy Bloom.

“Hellraiser” – A quintessential classic, Clive Barker’s “Hellraiser” is the film that introduced the world to the iconic Pinhead. This tale about opening doors to other dimensions with a puzzle box mixes fantasy with gothic horror in ways that will make your skin crawl.

“A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night” – Described as an Iranian vampire Western, this film is as unique as it sounds. The black-and-white styled film tells the story of an undead anti-heroine who stalks the streets of Bad City. It’s artful, impactful, and leaves a haunting impression.

“The Witch” – Steeped in 17th-century New England folklore, Robert Eggers’ debut feature “The Witch” tells the tale of a Puritan family who encounter forces of evil in the woods beyond their farm. With immersive storytelling and painstaking period detail, it’s a historical nightmare come to life.

“Re-Animator” – For those craving campy 80s fun with their scares, Stuart Gordon’s “Re-Animator,” based on H.P. Lovecraft’s serial novelette, delivers gore and dark humor in equal measure. Jeffrey Combs’ performance as Herbert West is delightfully over-the-top.

“The Changeling” – A sophisticated ghost story about grief and dark pasts,” The Changeling”, follows music composer John Russell (George C. Scott) as he unravels the mystery behind his seemingly haunted home. The chilling atmosphere will have you reconsidering every bump in the night.

These are just a few highlights from Shudder’s rich library. Subscribers can enjoy an extensive selection of subgenres spanning from psychological thrillers to gory slashers—an essential service for any horror devotee or casual scare-seeker alike. Whether it’s for some late-night fright or scholarly interest in genre filmmaking techniques, Shudder’s offerings ensure every fan can find something that will send shivers down their spine.
