1. Spinach: A time-tested favorite, spinach boasts a mild taste that easily blends into any smoothie without overpowering other flavors. It is packed with vitamins K, A, C, and minerals like iron and manganese.

2. Kale: Another nutrient powerhouse, kale provides an impressive amount of vitamins A, C, and K. Its robust flavor is well-suited for pairing with sweet fruits like bananas or pineapples to balance its bitterness.

3. Swiss Chard: This vibrantly colored green contains a unique phytonutrient profile that includes syringic acid and flavonoids. Swiss chard has a mildly bitter taste similar to spinach and works well combined with sweeter ingredients.

4. Collard Greens: Rich in nutrients like calcium and vitamin K, collard greens have a chewier texture and a heartier flavor. They are best balanced out with creamy fruits like banana or mango in smoothies.

5. Romaine Lettuce: Light and crispy with plenty of vitamin A and K, romaine lettuce has a subtle flavor that works great for adding bulk to smoothies without altering the taste significantly.

6. Dandelion Greens: With their detoxifying properties, dandelion greens are an unusual but beneficial addition to smoothies. They’re slightly bitter but pair nicely with fruits like berries and peaches.

7. Beet Greens: The tops of beets are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and have a pleasant earthy taste. They blend well with both sweet and citrus fruits.

8. Parsley: While typically used as a garnish, parsley is a wonderful addition to smoothies for its detox properties and high levels of vitamin C, K, as well as iron. Its fresh flavor compliments sweet fruits like apple or pear.

9. Watercress: This aquatic plant imparts a peppery flavor to smoothies and is rich in nutrients such as vitamin K and antioxidants. It’s an excellent partner for sweeter vegetables like carrots or tomatoes.

10 Arugula: Arugula possesses a spicy kick that can add complexity to your smoothie’s flavor profile. Alongside its zesty taste, it’s also rich in calcium, potassium, vitamin C, and folate.

Blending these greens into your smoothies can greatly enhance not only the health quotient but also the taste diversity of your daily nutrition intake.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
