Supabase (YC S20) Is Hiring An Auth Engineer (Remote)

Supabase, a leading provider of cloud-based, open-source infrastructure for building applications, is seeking an experienced Auth Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the authentication and authorization mechanisms for our cloud-based platform.

Our flagship product, Supabase, is a cloud-based, open-source platform that provides a robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure for building applications. With a focus on ease of use, scalability, and performance, Supabase has quickly become a go-to choice for developers and companies worldwide.

The Role

As an Auth Engineer at Supabase, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our authentication and authorization mechanisms. This includes:

Designing and implementing authentication and authorization flows for our platform, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and user-friendly.
Collaborating with the engineering team to develop new features and integrations with third-party services.
Troubleshooting and debugging authentication and authorization issues, ensuring high uptime and performance.
Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to our coding standards.
Staying up-to-date with the latest security and authentication best practices, and implementing them in our platform.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on authentication and authorization.
Strong understanding of security principles, including access control, encryption, and data protection.
Experience with at least one programming language, such as Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
