StumbleUpon was a social network that allowed users to discover new websites and content. However, the platform shut down in 2018, which left many users without a means to pass the time, discover new content, and connect with other users. Fortunately, there are still many StumbleUpon alternatives that you can use to fill the void. In this article, we’ll explore some of the best options that still work today.

  1. Mix

Mix is an excellent StumbleUpon alternative that uses an algorithm to suggest articles, videos, and other content based on your interests. It’s free to use, and you can create a profile to save and share your favorite content. Mix also allows you to follow other users and see what they’re sharing.

  1. Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual discovery engine that allows you to create “boards” of images related to your interests. It’s an excellent alternative to StumbleUpon for visual content, and you can easily find new ideas and inspiration by browsing through other users’ boards. Pinterest also has a social aspect where you can follow other users and interact with their content.

  1. Reddit

Reddit is a massive online community that covers just about every topic imaginable. It’s an excellent StumbleUpon alternative as it allows users to vote on content, so the most popular posts rise to the top. You can also join subreddits that relate to your interests to see posts from like-minded individuals. Reddit is an excellent platform for discussion and discovering new ideas.

  1. Digg

Digg is another social news website that allows users to vote on content to rank it by importance and popularity. You can discover new articles, videos, and other content on Digg, and the most popular posts will be featured on the front page. Digg also has a social aspect where you can follow other users and see what they’re sharing.

  1. Pocket

Pocket is a free app that allows you to save articles, videos, and other content to read later. It’s an excellent StumbleUpon alternative as it allows you to discover new content and save it for when you have more time. Pocket also has a “recommendations” section where you can find new content based on what you’ve saved.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
