Steps to Enable Flash in Chrome
Flash technology has been around for years and is still used on many websites for creating animations or videos. However, Google Chrome, one of the most popular browsers, has disabled Flash by default since 2016 due to security concerns. But if you still want to use Flash in Chrome, it’s possible. Here are the steps to enable Flash in Chrome.
Step 1: Launch Chrome Settings
Open Chrome on your computer and click on the three dots icon on the top-right corner of the screen, then click on Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.
Step 2: Access Advanced Settings
Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see the Advanced option. Click on it to expand the settings menu.
Step 3: Locate Content Settings
The Advanced settings contain several sub-sections. Scroll down until you find the section called Content settings and click on it.
Step 4: Enable Flash
Under the Content settings section, you’ll see a Flash sub-section. Click on it to access the Flash settings. Next, toggle the switch beside ‘Allow sites to run Flash’ to enable it.
Step 5: Add trusted sites
To ensure that Flash only runs on trusted sites and avoids potential security threats, you can add individual URLs to a list of allowed websites. Click on the ‘Add’ button to add a trusted site, and then enter the site URL (e.g., https://www.example.com).
Step 6: Refresh the page
Once Flash is enabled, you need to refresh the web page you’re visiting for the change to take effect. Use the F5 key or the Reload button to refresh the page. Flash content should now be visible.
Step 7: Disable Flash
If you only need Flash for specific purposes and want to disable it after use, you can follow these steps to turn it off. Follow the same steps to access the Chrome settings menu and click on Advanced settings. Click on Content settings and then Flash settings. Finally, toggle the switch beside ‘Ask first’ to ‘Block sites from running Flash’ to disable it.
