Speech Services by Google Won’t Stop Downloading? Ways to Fix It
Google’s Speech Services is a revolutionary tool introduced to assist individuals in tasks like speech recognition, transcription, and translation. However, some users encounter issues where Speech Services by Google won’t stop downloading, causing slow internet speeds, and eventually leading to frustration. - Clear Cache and Data of the Speech Services App: One of the primary reasons that cause Speech Services to continue downloading is the accumulation of cache and data in the app. Clearing the cache and data from the app can help solve this problem. Open the Settings app on your device, go to the Apps & Notifications menu and select Speech Services. Tap on the Storage option and then hit the Clear Cache and Clear Data buttons. This will delete all the cache and data stored in the app, freeing up space for new updates.
- Disable Background Data Usage: Another option is to stop Speech Services from using data in the background mode. When the Speech Services app is running in the background, it continues to download updates, causing slow internet speeds. To disable background data usage, open the Settings app on your device, click on the Apps & Notifications menu and select Speech Services. Tap on the Mobile data & Wi-Fi option and turn off the toggle switch for Background data.
- Update Google Play Services: Speech Services is bundled with Google Play Services, and if the latter is not updated, it can cause issues in Speech Services. To update Google Play Services, go to the Google Play Store app on your device and search for Google Play Services. Tap the Update button if available.
- Check the Storage Space: Speech Services by Google needs sufficient storage space on your device to function correctly. If your device runs out of space, the app can start malfunctioning or have issues downloading updates. Check your device’s storage space and delete unnecessary files if needed.
