As a graphic designer or photo editor, we all know the importance of time management. Any action that can help us work faster and more efficiently is worth trying. One of the best ways to speed up your workflow and save precious time is by mastering Photoshop shortcuts. Specifically, Photoshop Fill shortcuts can make a significant difference in your workflow, allowing you to fill selections and layers in an instant.

Here are some of the most useful fill shortcuts in Photoshop:

1. Fill with Foreground Color

To fill a selection with the foreground color, press Alt + Backspace (Windows) or Option + Delete (Mac).

2. Fill with Background Color

To fill a selection with the background color, press Ctrl + Backspace (Windows) or Command + Delete (Mac).

3. Fill with Content-Aware Option

Photoshop’s content-aware fill option uses artificial intelligence technology to fill in the selected area based on surrounding pixels. To use this feature, select the area you want to fill, and press Shift + F5 to open the Fill dialog box. Select the Content-Aware option, and hit OK.

4. Fill with Pattern

If you want to fill a selection with a specific pattern, press Shift + F5 to open the Fill dialog box. Select “Pattern” in the “Use” dropdown menu, and choose the desired pattern from the list. Hit OK.

5. Fill with History

Photoshop remembers every action you take in the History panel. If you want to fill a selection with a previous state in your editing process, select the desired state in the History panel and press Shift + F5 to open the Fill dialog box. Select “History” in the “Use” dropdown menu, and hit OK.

6. Fill with Black or White

To fill a selection with solid black or white, use the following shortcuts:

– Black: Press “D” to set the default foreground and background colors to black and white, respectively. Then, press Alt + Backspace (Windows) or Option + Delete (Mac).
– White: Press “D” to set the default foreground and background colors to black and white, respectively. Press “X” to swap the foreground and background colors. Then, press Alt + Backspace (Windows) or Option + Delete (Mac).

By mastering these Photoshop fill shortcuts, you can quickly and easily fill selections and layers with the desired content. This can save you a lot of time and make your editing process smoother and more efficient. So next time you work on a project in Photoshop, be sure to use these shortcuts and see the difference it can make!
