‘Shogun’ Star Hira Takehiro, Carlo Aquino’s ‘Crosspoint’ Acquired by Netflix From Fire and Ice Media at Busan ACFM (EXCLUSIVE)

Busan, South Korea – Netflix has acquired the rights to the highly anticipated Filipino action thriller, “Crosspoint,” starring “Shogun” breakout Hira Takehiro and acclaimed Filipino actor Carlo Aquino. The deal was announced at the Busan Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) during the ongoing Busan International Film Festival.
“Crosspoint” follows a former soldier (Takehiro) seeking a new life in the Philippines, only to find himself embroiled in a dangerous underworld where he must confront his past and fight for survival. Carlo Aquino plays a mysterious character who becomes both a guide and a rival for the protagonist.
The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Brillante Mendoza, known for his gritty realism and social commentary in works like “Masahista” and “Kinatay.” “Crosspoint” marks a significant step for both Takehiro and Aquino, who are poised for international recognition following the success of their respective projects.
