Mobile Hotspot Not Working in Windows 10? Here’s How to Fix It

If you’ve been trying to use your mobile hotspot on your Windows 10 device, you may have discovered that it’s not working as it should. This can be a frustrating experience, especially if you rely on your device for work or other important tasks.

Fortunately, there are several potential reasons why your hotspot might not be working, and solutions to each of them. In this article, we’ll explore some common problems with mobile hotspots in Windows 10, and how to fix them.

Problem 1: Your mobile data plan doesn’t include hotspot access

One of the most common reasons why a mobile hotspot might not work on a Windows 10 device is that the user’s data plan doesn’t include hotspot access. Without this feature, your phone won’t be able to share its internet connection with other devices.

Solution: Check your data plan

The first thing to do if your hotspot isn’t working on your Windows 10 device is to check your data plan. Look for any information about hotspot access, such as the amount of data you’re allowed to use or any additional fees. If you’re not sure whether your plan includes hotspot access, contact your mobile service provider to find out.

Problem 2: Your phone’s hotspot isn’t turned on

Another common reason why a mobile hotspot might not work is that the user’s phone isn’t set up to share its internet connection. This can happen if the hotspot feature isn’t turned on, or if there’s a problem with the phone’s settings.

Solution: Check your phone’s settings

To turn on the hotspot feature on your phone, go to the “Settings” app and look for the “Hotspot & tethering” section. From there, you can turn on the hotspot feature and set up a password to protect your connection. If you’re still having trouble, try restarting your phone and checking the settings again.

Problem 3: Your Windows 10 device isn’t recognizing your phone’s hotspot

Sometimes, even if your phone is set up to share its internet connection, your Windows 10 device might not be able to connect to it. This can happen if there’s a problem with your network settings, or if there’s an issue with your phone’s software.

Solution: Reset your network settings

To reset your network settings on your Windows 10 device, go to the “Settings” app and click on “Network & Internet.” From there, select “Status” and then click on “Network reset.” This will reset your network settings and hopefully allow your device to connect to your phone’s hotspot.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact your mobile service provider or seek technical support for your Windows 10 device. In some cases, there may be a hardware problem or other issue that requires professional assistance.
