How to Block and Unblock Contacts in Gmail
Are you tired of receiving emails from unwanted contacts in your Gmail account? Luckily, Gmail offers the ability to block and unblock contacts, making it easier to manage your inbox and avoid spam or unwanted messages.
Here are the steps to block a contact in Gmail:
1. Open the email from the contact you want to block
2. Click on the three dots located in the top right corner of the email
3. Select “Block [contact’s name]” from the drop-down menu
4. Confirm your selection by clicking “Block” on the pop-up message
Once you have blocked a contact, all incoming emails from that address will be automatically sent to your Spam folder. If you change your mind and want to unblock the contact later, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Gear icon located in the top right corner of your Gmail account
2. Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu
3. Click on the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” tab
4. Scroll down to the “Blocked Addresses” section
5. Find the contact you want to unblock and click on “Unblock” next to their name
It’s important to note that unblocking a contact will not automatically move their emails from the Spam folder to your inbox. You will need to manually move any important messages back to your inbox to ensure you don’t miss any important information.
In addition to blocking individual contacts, Gmail also allows you to create filters to automatically block all incoming emails from specific domains or containing certain keywords. Simply go to “Filters and Blocked Addresses” and click on “Create a new filter” to get started.
