An Eno hammock is a popular piece of outdoor gear that provides enthusiasts with a comfortable and portable way to relax, whether they are camping, hiking or enjoying some backyard downtime. However, after extended use, your hammock is bound to get dirty from sweat, dirt, spills or other debris. To enjoy it the longest and maintain its durability, proper care and cleaning are essential. In this article, we’ll take you through the 13 steps on how to wash an Eno hammock.

1. Read the manufacturer’s care instructions: Before you begin, check any care instructions included in your hammock’s packaging or on the manufacturer’s website, as these can offer specific guidance tailored to your particular model.

2. Pre-treat stains: If you have stubborn or noticeable stains, use a gentle stain remover on the affected areas before washing your hammock.

3. Remove the carabiners: Ensure all hardware, including carabiners and straps, is removed from your hammock before washing. This will prevent any damage to the fabric as well as protect your washing machine.

4. Shake out loose debris: Take your hammock outside and give it a good shake to remove any loose dirt, leaves or debris.

5. Place the hammock in a pillowcase or laundry bag: To prevent tangling during the wash cycle, place your hammock inside a pillowcase or laundry bag designed for delicate items.

6. Wash separately: Wash your hammock separately from other laundry to avoid damage and color bleeding.

7. Use mild detergent: Select a gentle detergent free of harsh chemicals or bleach that could potentially damage or fade the fabric of your hammock.

8. Select a gentle cycle: Set your washing machine to a gentle cycle with cold water to preserve the color and integrity of your hammock’s fabric.

9. Hang it out to dry: Instead of putting your hammock in the dryer, which can damage the fabric, hang it outside on a clothesline or drying rack in a well-ventilated area.

10. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing: To prevent mildew and odor, ensure your hammock is completely dry before packing it away for storage.

11. Check for damages: After washing and drying, inspect your hammock for any damage or wear that may have occurred during the wash cycle. Repair any minor damages before using it again.

12. Reattach carabiners and straps: Once your hammock is clean and dry, reattach the carabiners and straps, ensuring they are securely fastened.

13. Store safely: Keep your clean hammock stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong its life and maintain its color vibrancy.

By following these 13 steps, you can keep your Eno hammock looking fresh and ready for its next adventure. Proper care is not only critical for appearance but also maintains the durability of this essential outdoor gear piece. Happy lounging!
