With billions of views per day, YouTube is one of the largest video-sharing platforms out there. Whether you are watching tutorials, music videos, documentaries, or even cooking shows, YouTube has an extensive collection of videos on almost any topic you can imagine.

Sometimes, though, you may want to watch only a specific moment or part of a video. Searching through the video can be time-consuming, especially if it is a one-hour-long video with several segments. But fear not, because YouTube has a feature called “precise seeking,” which allows you to find a specific moment in a video easily.

What is Precise Seeking?

YouTube’s precise seeking feature is a tool that enables users to jump to a particular point in a video without having to watch the entire thing. With this feature, you can accurately search through a video to find exactly what you’re looking for.

How to Use Precise Seeking in YouTube

Using precise seeking in YouTube is easy; you need to follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the YouTube video you want to watch and locate the timeline at the bottom of the video player.
  2. Click on the timeline; it will highlight in blue.
  3. Move the mouse pointer to the place in the video you want to start watching.
  4. Right-click on the timeline, and a drop-down menu will appear.
  5. In the drop-down menu, select the ‘Copy video URL at Current Time’ option.
  6. Now, you can paste the copied video URL into your browser, share it with others, or you can save it for later.

Advantages of Using Precise Seeking

Using YouTube’s precise seeking feature has several advantages:

  1. Saves time: With this tool, you can skip directly to the part of the video you need, which will save you a lot of time.
  2. Improved Accuracy: Precise seeking helps you to nail down the exact moment in the video that you want to replay.
  3. Sharing: The URL link created through the precise seeking feature is a great way to share specific parts of a video with your friends, family, or colleagues.
