As businesses, schools, and individuals continue to adapt to the virtual world, different video conferencing platforms have been innovated to make virtual communication easier and more accessible. One of the newest entrants to this space is Meet Now, which is Skype’s free Zoom alternative.

What is Meet Now?

Meet Now is integrated into the Skype app, and it allows users to host a video conference with up to 50 participants without requiring anyone to create or download an account. This does not only make virtual communication easier for meeting organizers but also for participants who can participate immediately in a Meet Now call without signing up for Skype.

How to Use Meet Now

Getting started with Meet Now is quite easy. Here’s how to go about it:

Step 1: Open Skype (Desktop or Mobile App)

If you’re using the desktop version, open Skype and click on “Meet Now” on the left side of the app. If you’re on the mobile app, tap on the “+” icon and select “Meet Now” from the list of options.

Step 2: Start a Meeting

Once you click the “Meet Now” button, you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked if you want to join a meeting or start a new one. Hit “Start new meeting,” and Skype will generate a shareable link and a dial-in number to help participants join the call.

Step 3: Invite People

Sharing the invite link is the easiest way to get people to join the meeting, participants can join from a browser, copy or dial-in the conference number. To access the link, click on the “Copy invite link” then share the link through different mediums. If you want people to join just by dialing in the number, click “Dial-in”.

Step 4: Manage the Meeting

As the host, you have control over the meeting’s settings. You can mute or unmute participants, eject participants, and change your background, among other features.

Meet Now Key Features

Meet Now has several features that make it a reliable communication tool. Here are some of the key features:

Screen Sharing: Screen Sharing is an essential feature for virtual meetings, webinars, and presentations. Meet now has a screen-sharing feature that enables sharing. The host can share their entire desktop screen, a particular program window they’re running, or content in Skype.

Chatting: Meet Now has a built-in chat tool that allows participants to send messages to each other privately or publicly. The chat tool also allows sending files.

Recording: Meet Now allows you to record meetings, save them and share them with your team or participants who couldn’t attend.

Conclusion

Meet Now is a reliable alternative to Zoom for hosting virtual calls with no account required. Its features make it an easy-to-use and straightforward tool for virtual calls or team meetings. Whether you want to host a group virtual call or do a one-on-one meeting, Meet Now is a tool to consider.
