Chrome’s latest update introduced a new feature called “Group Tabs,” which allows users to organize their open tabs into groups. This feature is particularly useful for those who frequently have multiple tabs open for different projects or tasks.

Creating a Tab Group

To create a tab group, simply right-click on any tab and select “Add to new group” or “Add to existing group.” If you choose to create a new group, you can name it by right-clicking on the group and selecting “Name group.” You can also choose a color for the group to make it easier to identify.

Managing Tab Groups

Once you have created a group, you can easily manage it by right-clicking on the group and selecting various options. These options include:

Unpinning the group:

This removes the group from the top of your browser window and makes it a regular tab.

Closing the group:

This closes all tabs within the group.

Moving tabs to another group:

You can move tabs from one group to another by simply dragging and dropping them.

Collapsing and Expanding Tab Groups

If you have a lot of tab groups, you can collapse them to save space. Simply click on the group’s name to collapse it. To expand the group again, click on the group’s name once more.

Using Tab Groups for Productivity

One of the biggest benefits of using tab groups is that it can help you stay organized and focused. For example, if you’re working on a project that requires research, you can create a tab group specifically for that project. This will help you keep all of your research tabs in one place and avoid getting distracted by unrelated tabs.

Conclusion

Overall, Chrome’s new Group Tabs feature is a great addition for anyone who needs to manage multiple tabs. By using tab groups, you can stay organized and increase your productivity. Give it a try and see how it can help you!
