Spread the love

The PlayStation 4 controller, also known as the DualShock 4, is a popular gaming controller that is loved by many gamers across the world. Surprisingly, you can easily use it with a PC or Mac, making it a popular choice for gamers who prefer using a controller over a keyboard and mouse. In this article, we’ll go over how to use a PS4 controller on your PC or Mac.

Connect Your PS4 Controller to Your PC or Mac via USB

The easiest and most reliable way to connect your PS4 controller to your PC or Mac is via USB. All you need to do is to connect your controller to your computer via a USB cable and it should be recognized by your computer.

If you’re using a modern PC or Mac, the controller should automatically download the drivers needed to use the controller. However, if you’re using an older PC or Mac, you may need to download the appropriate drivers manually.

After you’ve connected your controller via USB, you should start playing your favorite games.

Connect Your PS4 Controller to Your PC or Mac via Bluetooth

If your PC or Mac has Bluetooth capabilities, you can easily connect your PS4 controller to your computer via Bluetooth.

To do this, you need to turn on Bluetooth on your PC or Mac and then put your PS4 controller in pairing mode by holding down the PS button and Share button at the same time. Once the light on your controller starts flashing, it means that it’s in pairing mode.

Then, on your PC or Mac, go to the Bluetooth settings and search for available Bluetooth devices. You should see your PS4 controller in the list of available devices. Simply select it and click on Connect.

Once your PS4 controller is connected via Bluetooth to your PC or Mac, you can start playing your favorite games.

Using the DS4Windows Program

If you’re having difficulty using your PS4 controller on your PC or Mac, you can use the DS4Windows program. This program emulates an Xbox 360 controller on your computer, making it easier to use your PS4 controller.

To use DS4Windows, you need to download and install it on your computer. Once it’s installed, open the program and plug in your PS4 controller via USB. The program should automatically recognize your controller and allow you to configure it to your liking.

DS4Windows also allows you to create custom profiles for your controller, making it perfect for games that don’t support the PS4 controller natively.

In conclusion, using a PS4 controller on your PC or Mac is a great way to enhance your gaming experience. By following the above steps, you should be able to use your PS4 controller with ease. Whether you connect it via USB or Bluetooth, you can use your controller to play your favorite games on your computer.
