How to Turn Your PS5 From Vertical to Horizontal (and Vice Versa)

If you have recently purchased a PlayStation 5, then you might be wondering how you can switch your console from vertical to horizontal position (or vice versa). Whether it’s because your entertainment center only has enough room in one position, or maybe you just prefer the look of it one way or the other, the good news is that this process is relatively simple.

Here are the steps you need to follow to turn your PS5 from vertical to horizontal position, or vice versa:

Step 1: Power off your console and unplug all cables

Before you begin adjusting the position of your PS5, you need to make sure that it is turned off and all cables have been properly unplugged from the console. This will help you avoid accidental damage to your device.

Step 2: Remove the base

Now that your console is unplugged, you can remove the base. The base is what allows your console to be placed vertically, and it needs to be removed in order to switch to a horizontal position. To remove the base, turn your PS5 upside down and locate the circular screw at the bottom. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then remove the base from the console.

Step 3: Adjust your console to horizontal position

With the base removed, you can now switch your PS5 to the horizontal position. Simply lay the console on its side and make sure that it is level.

Step 4: Reattach the base

If you want to switch back to vertical position in the future, you will need to reattach the base. To do this, insert the base into the slot on the bottom of your PS5 and then tighten the circular screw until it is snug.

Step 5: Plug all cables back in

Once your console is in your preferred position, you can now plug in all cables, turn on your PS5, and start enjoying your games!
