Crossplay has become a popular feature in modern gaming. It allows players on different platforms to come together and play games together. Xbox One and Series X|S owners can crossplay with other gaming platforms, such as PC and Nintendo Switch. However, some users might want to turn off this feature for several reasons, including privacy and competitive advantages. Here’s how to turn off crossplay on Xbox One and Series X|S.

Step 1: Launch Settings

The first step is to launch the settings app on your Xbox One or Series X|S console. You can either search for it on the home screen or press the Xbox button on your controller and choose the settings icon.

Step 2: Go to Account

After launching the settings app, select the account tab. This tab contains information about your Xbox Live account, including your personal information, privacy settings, and parental controls.

Step 3: Select Privacy & online safety

Once you’ve entered the account tab, select the privacy & online safety option. This will take you to a page where you can customize your Xbox Live privacy settings.

Step 4: Choose Xbox Live privacy

On the privacy & online safety page, select the Xbox Live privacy option, located at the bottom of the page. This setting allows you to control who can see your online data, such as your presence, activity, and friends.

Step 5: Turn Off Cross-Platform Communication

Scroll down to the communication & multiplayer section and toggle off the ‘You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text’ option. This step will turn off cross-platform communication, preventing you from communicating with players on other platforms.

Step 6: Turn Off Crossplay

Finally, scroll down to the cross-play tab and toggle off the ‘Play and communicate outside of Xbox Live’ option. This will turn off crossplay, preventing you from playing with gamers on other consoles.
