Nowadays, communication has evolved into multimedia messaging. Text messages don’t always have to be just words anymore – you can now send animated and funny GIFs to express your thoughts and feelings. But not everyone knows how to do this, especially on their iPhone or Android device. So, we have prepared a step-by-step guide on how to text a GIF on an iPhone or Android.

For iPhone Users:

Step 1: Open the Messages App

Go to your home screen and click on the messages app.

Step 2: Select a Contact

Now you have to select the contact you want to text the GIF to.

Step 3: Type a Message

Before choosing the GIF, you can type a message to accompany it.

Step 4: Choose the Apps Icon

Click on the apps icon that appears on the left side of the text box.

Step 5: Select the “GIF” Option

Swipe left and select the “GIF” option. If it’s not there, click on the “app store” icon and search for “GIPHY” then install the app.

Step 6: Choose a GIF

Here you can choose a pre-selected GIF, or you can use the search bar to find the perfect one.

Step 7: Send the GIF

Choose the GIF you want to send by clicking on it, then click on the send button.

For Android Users:

Step 1: Open Your Messaging App

Just like on an iPhone, you’ll need to open your messaging app.

Step 2: Select a Contact

Now you have to choose the contact you want to text the GIF to.

Step 3: Type Your Message

Before choosing the GIF, you can type your message to go with it.

Step 4: Choose the “Sticker” Icon

Click on the sticker icon that appears on the left side of the text box.

Step 5: Select the “GIF” Option

On the bottom right corner, you will see different options. Choose the “GIF” option.

Step 6: Choose a GIF

On the bottom of the screen, you’ll see different GIF options. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can use the search bar.

Step 7: Send the GIF

Select the GIF you want to send by clicking on it, then click on the send button.

Final Thoughts

Sending a GIF in a text message can add a fun and lighthearted tone to your conversation. Whether you’re using an iPhone or Android, it’s simple and easy to do. By following these steps, you can send GIFs to your friends and family in no time. Now, go ahead and start making your conversations more enjoyable with the endless possibilities of GIFs.
