Introduction:

In the digital era, speed is key, and that includes making phone calls. Speed dial helps you reach your most important contacts quickly and efficiently. Though iPhones don’t have a dedicated speed dial function, they offer other options to achieve the same result. Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up speed dial on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Phone App

Start by opening the Phone app on your iPhone. You’ll see four tabs at the bottom of the screen: Favorites, Recents, Contacts, and Keypad.

Step 2: Navigate To Favorites

Tap on the “Favorites” tab at the bottom left corner of the screen. This is where you will store your speed dial or priority contacts.

Step 3: Add New Favorite Contacts

To add a contact to this list, tap on the plus (+) symbol in the top right corner of the screen. This will bring up your existing contacts.

Step 4: Select A Contact

Scroll through or search for a specific contact you want to add as a speed dial entry. Tap on their name to proceed.

Step 5: Choose An Action To Assign

Once you tap on their name, you will be prompted with options like “Call,” “Message,” or “Facetime.” Select which action you’d like to assign for that specific contact when using speed dial.

Step 6: Confirm Your Selection

After selecting an action, it will be displayed under that contact’s name in your Favorites list. You can change this action later by tapping on “Edit” (on top-right corner) in the Favorites tab.

Step 7: Organize Your Favorites (Optional)

You can organize and order your favorites from this list by tapping “Edit” in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, press and hold on the three lines icon beside a contact’s name, and drag it to your desired position. This way, you can prioritize your speed dial contacts based on their importance.

Step 8: Using Speed Dial

Now that you’ve set up your favorite contacts, it’s time to put speed dial to use. When you want to initiate a call or any other action assigned to a favorite contact, simply open the Phone app, tap on the “Favorites” tab at the bottom, and select the relevant contact.

Conclusion:

With these simple steps, you can set up an efficient speed dial system on your iPhone. This will help you quickly reach your most important contacts and save valuable time. Customize and update your favorites list regularly to ensure you always have your most pertinent contacts at your fingertips.
