Nintendo Network ID (NNID) is a mandatory account creation that allows users to access and use Nintendo services like Nintendo eShop, Miiverse, and many more. Creating an NNID is quite easy and straightforward, and this article will guide you on how to set up your Nintendo Network ID.

Step 1: Go to Nintendo’s website

The first step to creating an NNID is to visit the Nintendo’s website. You can use your computer or mobile device to access the website.

Step 2: Click on the Create Your Nintendo Network ID

Once you are on the website, search for the “Create Your Nintendo Network ID” button, and click on it to create your account.

Step 3: Select Your Country of Residence

After you hit the create button, select the country of your residence on the prompt that will appear.

Step 4: Enter Your Birthdate

Nintendo requires users to enter their birthdate to confirm their age limit as they restrict some features and content to certain age brackets.

Step 5: Enter Your Email Address

The email address that you enter should be your valid email address as this will be the primary method used to recover your NNID if you ever lose access to it.

Step 6: Choose Your NNID

The NNID will be your unique username that you use to login to your Nintendo account. This username should be unique and cannot be changed once it is set.

Step 7: Enter Your Password

The next step is to enter your preferred password. Your password should be between 8-20 characters and a mix of uppercase, lowercase, and numbers. Also, avoid using personal details like birthdates or names.

Step 8: Create a Security Question

Creating a security question will help you in case you forget your password. Your question should be something that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess the answer. For instance, what’s your mother’s maiden name?

Step 9: Enter a Nickname

A nickname can be entered if you want other users to address you by that name in the online world. The nickname is different from your NNID.

Step 10: Verify Your Account

After filling in the required details, you will receive a verification email in your provided email address. Verify your account by clicking on the verification link.

Finally, you have successfully created your Nintendo Network ID account. You can now use your NNID to access the various Nintendo services available. Happy playing.
