If you are an avid reader, you might be wondering about ways to get free books that you can read on different platforms without violating copyright law. Public domain books are an excellent solution to this problem. Public domain books are book titles that are free of copyright, and they’re available for download or online reading without paying for them. Many famous works of literature, such as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The War of the Worlds, and Pride and Prejudice, are public domain books.

Here are some ways to find public domain books online:

Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg is perhaps the most popular way to find public domain books. The organization has been digitizing classic literature since 1971 and currently offers over 60,000 titles. The best part? All of the books are free to download, and you can read them on almost any device. Project Gutenberg also offers audiobooks that you can download for free.

Google Books

Google Books is another excellent resource for finding public domain books online. Google Books has digital copies of millions of out-of-copyright books, and you can read them on your computer or mobile device. You can also download many of the books as PDF files.

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress has an extensive digital collection that includes public domain books. The library has partnered with another online resource, HathiTrust, to make their public domain books available online.

Internet Archive

The Internet Archive is an online library that has over 20 million books, including public domain titles. The books are available for free download in different digital formats.

OpenLibrary

OpenLibrary is another digital library option that has a vast collection of public domain books. The site also allows you to create your digital library, keep track of what you’ve read, and get recommendations.

Feedbooks

Feedbooks is another website that allows you to download public domain books. The site offers a wide range of genres such as fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, and you can download free eBooks in various formats.

In conclusion, finding public domain books online is a fantastic way to save money, read some of the world’s most famous literature, and explore different genres. With these sites, you can access classic literature from famous authors such as Jane Austen, Mark Twain, and William Shakespeare.
