The invention of online shopping has provided individuals with the convenience of buying their desired items from the comfort of their home. With this convenience has come the requirement to provide credit card information to websites. This, however, can be a risky process as hackers and fraudsters are frequently looking for ways to steal personal data. Fortunately, Apple has developed a secure feature that enables individuals to scan their credit card numbers in Safari for iPhone. In this article, we will discuss how to scan credit card numbers in Safari for iPhone.

Step 1: Launch the Safari App

The first step is to launch the Safari app on your iPhone. Once the app is opened, you’ll need to navigate to the website that requires your credit card information.

Step 2: Tap on the Credit Card Field

After accessing the website, you can start the process by tapping on the credit card field where you are required to enter your credit card number.

Step 3: Tap on Scan Credit Card

Upon opening the credit card field, a keyboard will appear where you can type the number manually. However, to scan the credit card number, tap on the Scan Credit Card option on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 4: Allow Camera Access

When you tap on the ‘Scan Credit Card’ option, a pop-up will appear asking you to grant Safari access to your camera. Click on “OK” to allow Safari to use your camera.

Step 5: Hold the Card Steady and Wait for the Scan to Complete

Next, hold your credit card over the camera on the back of your iPhone. The card number will be automatically detected by the camera, and you will be prompted to verify the number by either tapping Use Credit Card or Manually Enter Credit Card Details.

Step 6: Verify the Credit Card Details

You can manually verify the credit card details to ensure they are accurate. The information displayed will include the cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date, and CVV number (security code). If the details match, click on ‘Done’ to complete the process.

In conclusion, scanning credit card numbers in Safari for iPhone is a convenient and secure way to enter credit card details. By following the steps mentioned above, you can easily scan credit card numbers and complete secure transactions on websites. It is essential to ensure that the website you are using is legitimate to avoid exposing your credit card details to fraudsters.
