Adjusting screen brightness on your Windows 10 or 11 PC is a crucial step to ensure a comfortable viewing experience. Whether you are working in a brightly lit room or streaming your favorite show in the dark, adjusting the screen brightness is a quick and easy way to optimize your PC’s display.

Method 1: Keyboard Shortcuts

Most Windows 10 or 11 laptops come with dedicated keyboard shortcuts to adjust screen brightness. Typically, these shortcuts involve pressing the F1, F2, or F3 keys in combination with the Fn key, depending on your keyboard model.

To increase or decrease screen brightness using keyboard shortcuts, press the Fn key and the corresponding F keys on your keyboard until you achieve the desired brightness level.

Method 2: Using Windows Settings

Windows 10 and 11 offer an easy-to-use display setting that allows you to adjust your PC’s brightness. Here’s how to access the display setting:

1. Click on the Start button and select the Settings gear icon from the menu.

2. Select System from the options menu.

3. Click on Display Settings.

On the Display Settings page, you will find a slider labeled “Brightness and Color,” which you can use to increase or decrease the screen brightness. Slide it left to decrease brightness, and right to increase it.

Method 3: Action Center

The Action Center is a great tool to quickly adjust the screen brightness and other display settings on your Windows

10 or 11 PC.

To access the Action Center, simply click on the Notification Icon on the bottom right corner of your taskbar or press

Windows Key + A. The Action Center will pop up, and you can adjust your screen brightness by using the brightness slider.

Method 4: Using the Control Panel

Windows 10 and 11 still have the Control Panel, which is a more advanced form of the Settings app. Here’s how to tweak the screen brightness through the Control Panel:

1. Click on the start button and type in “Control Panel.”

2. Select Control Panel from the search results.

3. Click on Hardware and Sound.

4. Select Power Options.

5. Click on Adjust Screen Brightness.

On the next page, you will find a slider labeled “Screen brightness,” which you can use to increase or decrease the brightness level.
