We all know how important our emails can be, whether it’s for work or personal use. With the increasing amount of emails we receive every day, it’s important to have a backup plan in place in case of unforeseen circumstances. One way to do this is by saving your Outlook emails to an external hard drive.

Here are the steps you need to follow to save your Outlook emails to an external hard drive:

Step 1: Create a new folder on your external hard drive

Firstly, you need to create a new folder on your external hard drive where you will be saving your Outlook emails. This can be done by navigating to your external hard drive and right-clicking anywhere on the screen. Select the “New Folder” option and give it a name of your choice.

Step 2: Open Outlook and navigate to the email you want to save

Once you’ve opened Outlook, navigate to the email you want to save. You can do this by scrolling through your inbox or searching for the email using the search bar.

Step 3: Click on “File” in the top left-hand corner

Once you’ve found the email, click on “File” in the top left-hand corner of your Outlook window. A drop-down menu will appear.

Step 4: Click on “Save As”

Select “Save As” from the list of options. A new window will appear.

Step 5: Choose the location and file format

Under “Save as type,” select “Outlook Message Format” from the list of options. Then, navigate to the new folder that you created in Step 1 and select it as the location to save the email.

Step 6: Repeat the process for each email you want to save

Repeat these steps for each email you wish to save to your external hard drive, making sure to choose the same location (the new folder you created in step 1) each time.

By following these simple steps, you can save all your important Outlook emails to an external hard drive, ensuring that you have a backup plan in case of any unforeseen circumstances. It’s always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to important information, so take the extra step to ensure you have a backup copy of your important work and personal emails.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
