If you’re a Windows laptop user, you’re probably familiar with touchpads. Touchpads are a convenient way to navigate your laptop without having to use a mouse. They’re also equipped with some essential functionalities, like the left click, but what about right-clicking and middle-clicking? If you’re using a touchpad on your Windows machine and you’re struggling with right-clicking or middle-clicking, then this article is for you. Read on to learn how to right-click and middle-click on Windows touchpads.

Right-Click on Windows Touchpads

Right-clicking is an essential function that you need for performing certain actions in Windows. Right-clicking on a touchpad can be a bit tricky, but these methods will make it easier.

  1. Two-Fingered Tap: The easiest and most intuitive method for right-clicking on a touchpad is by using the two-fingered tap. Simply place two fingers on the touchpad and tap them together. This will produce the right-click functionality.
  2. Bottom-Right-corner Click: Another way to perform a right-click is by clicking on the bottom right corner of the touchpad. Some touchpads are designed with a small physical button in this area, but it can also be achieved with a slight tap in this area.
  3. Two-Fingered Click: Like the two-fingered tap, you can also perform a right-click by clicking two fingers together on the touchpad. This method is ideal if you don’t want to use the bottom-right corner of the touchpad as it can sometimes be too small.

Middle-Click on Windows Touchpads

Middle-clicking is another essential function that is required for a variety of tasks in Windows. Here are a few ways to perform this function on your touchpad.

  1. Three-Finger Tap: To middle-click on your Windows touchpad, press down on the touchpad with three fingers simultaneously. This should produce the middle click functionality.
  2. Two-Button Click: Some touchpads are designed with physical buttons below them. If your touchpad has this feature, you should be able to middle-click by pressing both buttons simultaneously.
  3. Two-Fingered Click: Similar to the right-click functionality mentioned above, you can also middle-click by clicking two fingers together on the touchpad.
