Google Docs is a popular web-based word processing platform that allows for collaboration and sharing of documents among many people. Comments are a useful feature in Google Docs that provides a way to collaborate and communicate with other collaborators in a document. Occasionally, you may have resolved a comment in a Google Doc that you need to recover later. In this article, we will show you how to recover resolved comments in Google Docs.

What are Resolved Comments?

When you add a comment to a Google Doc, it appears as a small yellow icon in the document. Collaborators can then respond to the comment or resolve it when it has been addressed. A resolved comment is a comment that has been attended to, and collaborators don’t need to comment on it anymore.

When a comment has been resolved, it no longer appears in the comments panel, but the comment remains in the document’s history. This means you can still recover resolved comments whenever you need them.

How to Recover Resolved Comments in Google Docs

To recover resolved comments in a Google Doc, follow the below steps:

1. Open the document in question.

2. Click on File from the top menu, then select Version History from the dropdown menu.

3. A panel will open showing a list of previous versions of the document. Choose the version that you want to restore the comment from. If you’re not sure which version holds the comment you’re looking for, you can hover over each version to get a preview of the document.

4. Once you identify the version, click on its name to open it.

5. The document will open in the version you selected, showing the previous comments, including resolved ones.

6. To permanently restore the resolved comment, hover over it, and click the Restore button.

7. If you want to bring the text of the comment back into the document, copy it and then cancel the restore. When you’re back to the present version, add the comment manually, and paste the comment’s text back in.

8. Once you have restored all the comments you need to restore, close the Version History panel by clicking on the x in the top right corner.

Conclusion

Recovering resolved comments in Google Docs is a simple process that can save you a lot of time. It’s a helpful feature that allows you to access comments that you or your collaborators may have resolved in the past, but you need them for reference or a different reason. By following the steps outlined above, you can quickly recover any resolved comments in your Google Docs. Check out this site for more tips on Google Docs Invoice Template.
