Google Home and Google Nest devices are quickly becoming a must-have in smart homes all around the world. These devices are equipped with various features that make them a handy assistant around the house. One of the top features is their alarm system. However, the standard alarm sounds can be dull and sometimes may not resonate with the user. Fortunately, it is easy to change the alarm sounds on your Google Home or Google Nest device, and this article explains how.

Step 1: Launch the Google Home app

The first step is to launch the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet. You can download the app from the Google Play Store or App Store if you do not have it installed already. Once the app is installed, open it, and select the Google Home or Google Nest device you want to change the alarm sound on.

Step 2: Navigate to alarm settings

With the device selected, click on the gear icon that appears in the top right corner of the device page. This will take you to the settings page. From there, select “Alarm” to access the alarm settings.

Step 3: Choose a new alarm sound

Once you have accessed the alarm settings, you can now choose a new alarm sound by tapping on the “Alarm sound” option. This will reveal a list of various preset alarm sounds that come with the device. You can listen to these preset sounds by tapping on them. However, you may also choose an alarm tone of your preference.

Step 4: Create your custom alarm sound

If you cannot find a sound that satisfies you from the presets, Google Home also permits you to create your custom sound. This process requires advanced editing skills, and hence we cannot cover it here. However, you can check Google’s official website for more guidance.

Step 5: Set the new alarm sound

Once you have selected your preferred sound, tap on the “Save” or “OK” button to set your new alarm sound. You have successfully changed the alarm sound on your Google Home or Google Nest device.

In conclusion, Google Home and Google Nest devices are exceptional gadgets that add convenience to our daily routines. The alarm feature helps us wake up on time and start our day on the right foot. With the steps outlined above, you can easily change the alarm sound on your Google Home or Google Nest to match your preference. Try it today, and enjoy your favourite tunes every time you wake up.
