How to Make Spotify Sound Better: Settings to Tweak
Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming platforms out there. With its vast library of songs and playlists, it allows users to enjoy music across different genres with ease. However, sometimes the sound quality of Spotify may not be up to par, leading to a less than optimal listening experience. In this article, we will share some tips on how to make Spotify sound better by tweaking its settings.
1. Enable the High-Quality Streaming Option
By default, Spotify streams songs at a lower quality to save data and bandwidth. However, if you have a stable internet connection, you can enable the high-quality streaming option to listen to songs in better quality. To do this, go to Settings, scroll down to the Music Quality option, and select High Quality.
2. Adjust Playback Quality
Spotify allows users to choose between three different playback quality settings: Normal, High, and Extreme. Normal is the default and uses the lowest bitrate for streaming. High uses a higher bitrate, while Extreme streams songs at the highest possible quality, which is 320 kbps. To change the playback quality, go to Settings, scroll down to the Playback option, and select the desired quality.
3. Turn on the Eq Preset
Spotify’s built-in equalizer (EQ) allows you to adjust the sound quality to your liking. You can enable an EQ preset that matches your music style or create one of your own. To do this, go to Settings, scroll down to the Playback option, and select Equalizer. From there, you can choose from any of the built-in EQ presets or create your own.
4. Disable Audio Normalization
Spotify’s audio normalization feature is designed to make all songs play at a consistent volume level. However, this can sometimes lead to songs sounding compressed and less dynamic. To disable audio normalization, go to Settings, scroll down to the Playback option, and turn off the Enable Audio Normalization toggle.
5. Use External Audio Hardware
Using external audio hardware, such as a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) or a quality pair of headphones, can significantly improve the sound quality of Spotify. These devices can enhance the sound quality of your music, making it sound richer, more detailed, and with better definition.
