Gmail is not just a reliable app to send or receive emails, it also allows users to make voice and video calls. As a user, making a call from your Gmail app is a convenient way to connect with your contacts. This article explains how to make a call from the Gmail app in easy-to-follow steps.

Step 1: Download the Gmail App

Before making a call from the Gmail app, you need to ensure that you have the latest Gmail app installed on your device. If you haven’t installed the Gmail app on your device, visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download it.

Step 2: Sign in to Your Gmail Account

After downloading the Gmail app, sign in to your Gmail account using your existing username and password.

Step 3: Access Contacts

To make a call, you do not need to add a new contact. All your saved contacts within your Gmail account are available in the app. In-case of a new contact, you’ll have to add it to your Gmail contacts.

Step 4: Initiate a Call

To initiate a call, tap the Voice or Video call icon, depending on the type of call you want to make. The Voice call icon looks like a phone receiver, while the Video call icon looks like a video camera.

Step 5: Wait For the Call to Connect

Once you initiate the call, wait for your contact to accept the call. During this time, Gmail will attempt to set up the call. If your connection is weak, the app may indicate that you do not have the required data strength to proceed with the call.

Step 6: End the Call

After successfully connecting with your contact, end the call by clicking the red call icon on the screen.

Conclusion

Making voice and video calls on Gmail is an ideal way to connect with contacts from anywhere. With the easy-to-follow steps outlined in this article, you can initiate a call within seconds and communicate with your contacts instantly. It is crucial to have an excellent internet connection to make smoother audio or video calls.
