Step 1: Research Scientology

Before joining any organization, it’s essential to understand its beliefs and practices. Start by researching the Church of Scientology, its founder L. Ron Hubbard, and the tenets of Dianetics.

Step 2: Visit a Local Scientology Organization

Find a nearby Church of Scientology or mission. Visit their website for information on their location, hours of operation, and upcoming events.

Step 3: Attend a Free Introductory Course

Most Scientology organizations offer free introductory courses to help you understand the basics of their teachings. Attend one to learn more about the religion and determine if it’s right for you.

Step 4: Purchase and Read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health

  1. Ron Hubbard’s bestselling book contains the foundational principles of Dianetics and Scientology. Reading it will provide insights into the theories underlying Scientology’s practices.

Step 5: Take a Personality Test

The Church of Scientology offers a free personality test known as the Oxford Capacity Analysis (OCA). This test aims to identify areas where you may benefit from personal improvement through Scientology.

Step 6: Attend a Free Seminar

After completing your personality test, attend a free follow-up seminar to learn more about the specific areas that pertain to you from your OCA results.

Step 7: Begin an Introductory Service

To further your understanding of Dianetics and Scientology, consider starting an introductory auditing or training service.

Step 8: Meet with a Church Registrar

A Church registrar can help answer questions or address concerns about joining Scientology. Schedule an appointment with them to explore membership options.

Step 9: Sign Up for Membership in the International Association of Scientologists (IAS)

The IAS connects like-minded individuals committed to supporting the overall goals and objectives of the Church of Scientology. If you feel ready, sign up for membership.

Step 10: Establish Goals and a Program

Work with Scientology staff to identify your goals within the religion. Utilize their guidance to create a tailored program to achieve those goals.

Step 11: Start Your Program

Begin following the personalized program and attending courses, seminars, and auditing sessions.

Step 12: Stay Active in the Scientology Community

Involve yourself in events organized by your local church and meet other Scientologists. Building connections with fellow believers can help reinforce your beliefs and further your progress within the Church.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
