Installing Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB is a simple and convenient process that requires only a few steps. In this article, we will guide you through the process of creating a bootable USB drive and installing Windows on your computer.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

To install Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB, you will need the following items:

– A computer with a USB port

– A USB flash drive with at least 4 GB of space

– A Windows 8 or 8.1 ISO file

Step 2: Download and Install Windows USB/DVD Download Tool

The first step in creating a bootable USB drive is to download and install the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool. This tool is available for free from the Microsoft website, and it allows you to easily copy the Windows ISO file onto your USB drive.

Step 3: Create a Bootable USB Drive

Once you have downloaded and installed the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool, follow these steps to create a bootable USB drive:

1. Insert your USB drive into a USB port on your computer.

2. Open the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool and select the Windows 8 or 8.1 ISO file.

3. Choose your USB drive from the list of available devices.

4. Click on the “Begin copying” button to start the process of copying the Windows ISO file onto your USB drive.

5. Wait for the process to complete, which may take several minutes depending on the size of the ISO file.

Step 4: Configure Your Computer’s BIOS Settings

To install Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB, you need to configure your computer’s BIOS settings to boot from the USB drive. Here’s how:

1. Restart your computer and press the key indicated on the screen to enter the BIOS setup (usually either F2 or Delete).

2. Navigate to the “Boot” tab in the BIOS setup.

3. Change the boot order so that your USB drive is the first boot device.

4. Save your changes and exit the BIOS setup.

Step 5: Install Windows 8 or 8.1

Once you have configured your computer’s BIOS settings, you are ready to install Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB. Here’s how:

1. Insert your USB drive into a USB port on your computer.

2. Restart your computer.

3. When prompted, press any key to boot from the USB drive.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 8 or 8.1.

5. Once the installation is complete, remove the USB drive and restart your computer.

In conclusion, installing Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB is a straightforward process that can save you time and hassle compared to using a CD or DVD. With a few simple steps, you can create a bootable USB drive and install the latest version of Windows on your computer.
