Linux users have long been struggling with limited game titles compatible with their systems. Fortunately, Epic Games, the video game developer and publisher, launched their store, offering a variety of amazing games, including some great free titles. To enjoy these games on your Linux system, you need to install the Epic Games Launcher first. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of installing the Epic Games Launcher on Linux so you can start playing games today.

Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before downloading and installing, make sure your system fulfills the following requirements:

– 64-bit Linux OS with glibc version 2.17 or later.

– OpenGL 4.5 or later.

– Recommended system specifications for gaming.

Step 2: Download the Launcher

You can download the Epic Games Launcher from its official website at www.epicgames.com. Look for the “Get Epic Games” button, click on it, and select Linux as your operating system. You’ll be prompted to save a file named “EpicGamesLauncherInstaller-*.x86_64.rpm” to your computer.

Step 3: Install Required Dependencies

The Epic Games Launcher needs some libraries and packages to run on Linux. In the terminal, run the following command:

“`

sudo apt-get install libgtk-3-0 libglib2.0-0 libgnutls28 libcurl4-openssl-dev libxdamage1 libtinfo5

“`

Step 4: Install the Launcher

Now that you’ve downloaded the installer file and installed the required dependencies, you can install the launcher by running the following command in the terminal:

“`

sudo rpm -i EpicGamesLauncherInstaller-*.x86_64.rpm

“`

Step 5: Run the Launcher

The launcher should now be installed, and you can run it by searching for it in your applications menu. If it’s not there, you can launch it from the terminal by typing “EpicGamesLauncher” and hitting enter.

Step 6: Sign In or Sign Up

Once you’ve opened the launcher, you’ll be prompted to sign in or sign up for an Epic Games account. If you don’t have one yet, create a new one.

Step 7: Install Your Games

Once you’re logged in, you’ll see the Epic Games store. You can browse and shop for games or download any free titles you want. Just select the game you want and click on the “Install” button. The launcher will install the game automatically.
