Introduction:

Traveling for business or attending a special event can often mean packing a suit. Transporting your suit without wrinkling it can feel like a daunting task. But fear not, we have prepared a step-by-step guide on how to fold a suit for travel to ensure your suit remains in pristine condition throughout your journey

Step 1: Prepare Your Suit

Before you start packing, ensure your suit is clean and freshly pressed. This will make it much easier to pack and ensure it remains wrinkle-free during transit.

Step 2: Turn the Jacket Inside Out

To protect the outer shell of your suit jacket, turn it inside out. Hold the jacket by its shoulders, with the lining facing upwards. Gently pull one of the shoulders through so that it folds in on itself.

Step 3: Fold the Shoulders Together

Bring the shoulders together by folding the jacket at its midsection. Lay the jacket on a flat surface with one shoulder resting inside the other.

Step 4: Roll or Fold Your Trousers

For your suit trousers, you have two options. You can either roll them or fold them.

Rolling Option:

1. Lay your trousers on a flat surface with the zipper facing up.

2. Begin rolling them from the waistband, rolling tightly and evenly down to the hem.

Folding Option:

1. Lay your trousers on a flat surface and smooth out any wrinkles.

2. Fold them in half by bringing one leg over the other.

3. Fold in half once more by bringing the waistband toward the hem.

Step 5: Place Your Trousers Inside Your Jacket

In order to save space and minimize any wrinkles, place your folded or rolled trousers inside your folded jacket. The pants should be situated along the crease made by folding the jacket in half.

Step 6: Fold Your Jacket in Half

With the trousers inside, fold your jacket in half, bringing the bottom up towards the collar. This should be a horizontal fold so that the jacket remains relatively wide, rather than narrow and tall.

Step 7: Pack Your Suit in Garment or Suit Bag (optional)

Putting your suit in a garment bag before placing it into your suitcase will provide an extra layer of protection. Garment bags are known for keeping clothes free from wrinkles and can be easily stored as carry-on luggage.

Step 8: Store the Suit in Your Suitcase

Place your folded suit on top of other items in your suitcase or bag to prevent too much pressure or folding. This will help to minimize creases and keep your suit looking sharp.

Conclusion:

Packing a suit for travel can be easy. By following these detailed steps, you can ensure your suit remains wrinkle-free and looking sharp throughout your journey. Happy travels!
