If you’re new to Windows 10, you might find yourself asking, “What’s the name of my computer?” It’s a simple question, but it can be a bit tricky to find the answer. Fortunately, with a few clicks, you can easily locate your Windows 10 computer name.

There are a few ways to locate your computer name in Windows 10. We’ve outlined the easiest and most common methods below:

1. Using the System Properties Window

The first method involves accessing the System Properties window. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Right-click on the Windows Start button (located in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop).

Step 2: Select the System option from the menu.

Step 3: In the System window, scroll down until you see the section labeled Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings.

Step 4: Your computer name will be listed under the Computer name field. If you don’t see the name listed, you may need to click the Change settings button to access the Properties window.

2. Using the Control Panel

Another way to find your computer name is by using the Control Panel. This method is particularly useful if you’re looking to change your computer’s name. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Click on the Windows Start button (located in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop).

Step 2: Type in “Control Panel” and click on the Control Panel app to open it.

Step 3: In the Control Panel window, select System and Security.

Step 4: Click on System.

Step 5: Your computer name will be listed under the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section.

3. Using the Command Prompt

Finally, you can also use the Command Prompt to find your computer name. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Click on the Windows Start button (located in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop).

Step 2: Type in “Command Prompt” and click on the Command Prompt app to open it.

Step 3: Type “hostname” and press Enter.

Step 4: Your computer name will be displayed on the next line.
