Spread the love

As an avid reader, you are likely to be glued to your Kindle Paperwhite for hours on end, engrossed in a riveting read. However, when it’s time to put down the book and move on to the next thing, you might find it a bit challenging to exit the book and return to the home screen. This article outlines the different ways you can exit a book on your Kindle Paperwhite.

Method 1: Swipe up and tap “Menu”

The first approach is to swipe up from the bottom of the book screen to reveal the toolbar. From there, you can tap the “Menu” button at the top right of the screen. This will bring up a drop-down menu that includes the “Settings” option, which also has an exit option (“Exit book”).

Method 2: Using the Power Button

Another way to exit a book is to use the power button. Simply press and hold the power button at the bottom of your Kindle Paperwhite for a few seconds. The screen will indicate that it is shutting down, and when it has completely turned off, you can safely close your e-reader or select another book to read.

Method 3: Turn on “Sleep mode”

The third option is to turn on the sleep mode on your Kindle Paperwhite. This method is perfect if you plan to take a quick break but intend to resume reading in a few minutes or later. To do this, tap the power button quickly and release it, and the screen will go into sleep mode, which displays the last page you were reading, and the battery life will be conserved.

Method 4: Use “Go to main menu”

If you wear your case with your Kindle, you can easily use the shortcuts at the top of the screen by swiping down from the top of the screen. Then tap “Go to main menu,” which will take you to the home screen. This method is especially useful if you tend to navigate your Kindle Paperwhite using the home screen.

Conclusion

There you have it — four efficient methods for exiting a book on your Kindle Paperwhite. Whether you prefer using the power button, tapping on the menu, or swiping down from the top of the screen, you can now close the book you’re reading and move forward with your day without any stressful confusion. No matter which method you use, always make sure to exit a book before shutting down your device. Additionally, closing unneeded apps can also help to prolong your battery life. Happy reading!
