YouTube is one of the most popular video-sharing platforms on the planet, with millions of videos viewed every day. It is a great way for users to interact with others by engaging in discussions on various topics. One way that YouTube channels can interact with its viewers and subscribers is through comments. It allows them to share their thoughts, ask questions, provide feedback, and engage in friendly conversations.

However, there are instances where YouTube channels may need to enable or disable comments. It could be to maintain a safe and healthy community, avoid spam, or protect users where comments may be deemed offensive or inappropriate.

In this article, we’ll discuss the steps for enabling or disabling comments on YouTube.

How to Enable Comments on YouTube

Enabling comments on YouTube videos is straightforward. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to the YouTube Studio.
  2. Click on the video you’d like to enable comments on.
  3. From the left menu, select Comments.
  4. In the “Allow comments” section, switch the toggle to the right to turn on comments.
  5. Click Save.

Congratulations! You have successfully enabled comments on your YouTube video!

How to Disable Comments on YouTube

Disabling comments on YouTube videos can help channel owners protect their viewers and maintain a healthy community. Here are the steps to disable comments on YouTube:

  1. Go to the YouTube Studio.
  2. Select the video you’d like to disable comments on.
  3. Click on the Comments tab from the left menu.
  4. In the “Allow comments” section, switch the toggle to the left to turn off comments.
  5. Click Save.

Congratulations! You have successfully disabled comments on your YouTube video.

It’s worth noting that disabling comments is irreversible. Once the comments are turned off, the option to turn them back on will be permanently disabled.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
