Social bookmarking is a unique and increasingly popular way for individuals and businesses alike to increase their online presence, share valuable resources, and drive traffic to their websites. By following these 12 steps, you can learn how to do social bookmarking effectively and make the most out of this powerful tool.

1. Choose Your Platform: Some popular social bookmarking sites include Reddit, Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious, and Diigo. Research each platform to determine which one best suits your needs.

2. Create a Profile: After choosing your platform, create a user profile by providing necessary information such as your name, email address, and username. Make sure to add a profile picture and complete any other settings according to your preferences.

3. Familiarize Yourself with the Platform: Spend some time exploring the different features of the platform before diving in. Be sure to take note of any guidelines or rules that exist on the site.

4. Organize Your Bookmarks: As you start bookmarking content, develop a system for categorizing your bookmarks using tags or folders. This will help you and others find them more easily later on.

5. Find Quality Content: Identify valuable content that is relevant to your interests or industry by browsing web pages, articles, blog posts, videos, images, etc.

6. Bookmark Content: When you find quality content, save it as a bookmark on your chosen platform by clicking on the appropriate button or icon depending on the site.

7. Add Descriptive Titles: Make sure each bookmark has a descriptive title that tells users what the content is about without leaving them guessing.

8. Write Informative Descriptions: Along with a title, provide a brief summary explaining why the content is valuable or worth looking at.

9. Use Tags Wisely: Choose relevant tags for each bookmark that will clearly categorize it and make it easier for other users to find.

10. Engage with Other Users: Don’t just share content; interact with others by commenting, liking, or voting on their bookmarks. This will help build your reputation and encourage others to engage with your content in return.

11. Promote Your Bookmarks: Share your bookmarks on other social media platforms or embed them into your blog or website to expand their reach.

12. Monitor Your Success: Keep an eye on your bookmarks’ performance by tracking their views, clicks, likes, comments, and shares. Use the insights gained from this data to inform your future bookmarking actions.

By following these 12 steps, you can make the most out of your social bookmarking experience and turn it into a powerful tool for increasing your online presence and driving traffic to your website.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
