Social media platforms have become an integral part of our lives, allowing us to connect with friends, families, and even strangers who share our interests. For instance, Instagram and Facebook have become a pair of inseparable social media sites, with many people using the former as an extension of the latter, and using them in tandem.

However, it is sometimes necessary to disconnect your Instagram account from Facebook due to various factors, including privacy concerns and the need to streamline postings on either platform. If you’re looking to learn how to do this, here is a practical guide that will help you complete the process within no time.

Step 1: Open your Instagram account

The first step to disconnecting your Instagram account from Facebook is to log in to your Instagram account using your username and password. Ensure that you have the right login credentials to avoid getting locked out of your Instagram account.

Step 2: Go to your profile

Next, navigate to your profile by tapping your profile picture or the icon with your username located in the top right-hand corner of the app.

Step 3: Access your settings

Once you’re on your profile page, click the three-lined icon in the top right-hand corner to access the menu, then scroll down and click ‘Settings.’

Step 4: Disconnect Instagram account from Facebook

Under the ‘Settings’ menu, navigate down and click on ‘Account’ > ‘ Linked Accounts.’ Click on the Facebook option and select ‘Unlink Account’ at the bottom of the page. This disconnects your Instagram account from Facebook, and your posts and stories will no longer appear on your linked Facebook account.

Note: If at any point you want to link your Instagram account to Facebook again, follow the same steps above and choose the ‘Link Account’ option instead of the ‘Unlink Account’ option.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
