If you’re someone who has concerns about your privacy, then deleting your Google Maps search history might be something that you want to do. Google Maps keeps track of all the places that you have visited, and this information can be valuable to advertisers or anyone who wants to know where you have been. Fortunately, deleting your search history from Google Maps is a quick and easy process. In this article, we will take you through the steps you need to follow to delete your Google Maps search history.

Step 1 – Open Google Maps

Log in to your Google account and then open Google Maps on your computer or smartphone. You will need to be signed in to your account to be able to view your search history.

Step 2 – Access Your Google Maps Search History

Click on the three horizontal lines located on the left-hand corner of the screen. Then, click on ‘Your Timeline’.

Step 3 – Delete Individual Entries

If you want to delete individual searches, you can click on each location and then click on the ‘Trash Bin’ icon located on the right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 4 – Delete Your Entire Search History

If you want to delete your entire search history, go to the ‘Settings’ option located on the right-hand corner of the screen. From there, select ‘Delete All Location History’ and then click on ‘Ok’.

Step 5 – Confirm the Deletion

Once you have clicked on ‘Ok’, you will be prompted with a message asking you to confirm your decision. Click on ‘Delete’ to confirm the deletion of your Google Maps search history.

Step 6 – Check Your Google Maps Search History

To ensure that your search history has been successfully deleted, click on the ‘Takeout’ option located on the left-hand corner of the screen. This will show you all the data that Google has stored on your account.

Deleting your Google Maps search history is something that you should consider if you’re concerned about your online privacy. Following the steps outlined in this article will ensure that your location history is deleted in just a few minutes.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
