MOV and MP4 are two popular video file formats that are widely used by people all over the world. Although both formats are designed to serve the same purpose, there are situations when it becomes necessary to convert MOV files to MP4, such as when you need to play a video on a device that only supports MP4 format. In this article, we will guide you on how to convert MOV to MP4.

Method 1: Using Online Converters.

The quickest and easiest way to convert MOV to MP4 is to use one of the many online converters available on the internet. Here are the steps you can follow:

Step 1: First, find a reliable online converter. There are many options available such as ZamZar, Online-Convert, and many others. You can search in Google or any search engine for “Convert MOV to MP4 online.”

Step 2: Once you’ve found your preferred converter, open the website and upload the MOV file you want to convert.

Step 3: After uploading the file, choose the output format as MP4 and adjust other settings if necessary.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Convert’ button and wait for the conversion process to complete.

Step 5: Download the converted MP4 file from the website to your device, and that’s it. Your MOV file is now an MP4 file.

Method 2: Using VLC Media Player.

VLC Media Player is a popular open-source media player that can play almost any video format. It can also be used as a converter to convert MOV files to MP4. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Download and install the VLC Media Player on your computer.

Step 2: Open VLC Media Player and click on the ‘Media’ tab at the top left corner.

Step 3: Select ‘Convert/Save’ from the drop-down menu, and a new window will open.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Add’ button to upload the MOV file you want to convert.

Step 5: Once the file is uploaded, click on the ‘Convert/Save’ button at the bottom of the window.

Step 6: Choose MP4 as the output format and select the destination folder where you want to save the converted file.

Step 7: Click on the ‘Start’ button to begin the conversion process.

Step 8: Wait for the conversion process to complete and your MOV file will be converted to MP4.

Method 3: Using Video Converter Software.

If you need to convert MOV files to MP4 on a regular basis or deal with large file sizes, it’s advisable to use dedicated video converter software. There are many paid and free options available such as Freemake Video Converter, Any Video Converter, and many others. Here’s how to use one of these:

Step 1: Download and install the video converter software on your computer.

Step 2: Launch the software and click on the ‘Add File’ button to upload the MOV file you want to convert.

Step 3: Once the file is uploaded, choose MP4 as the output format.

Step 4: Adjust other settings if necessary such as video quality, resolution, and frame rate.

Step 5: Select the output folder where you want to save the converted file.

Step 6: Click on the ‘Convert’ or ‘Start’ button to begin the conversion process.

Step 7: Wait for the process to complete and your MOV file will now be converted to MP4.
