Alexa is a smart speaker device developed by Amazon that is designed to make life easier by automating everyday tasks. To use Alexa, it must be connected to Wi-Fi. The process of setting up Wi-Fi can be done using the Alexa app or without it. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to connect Alexa to Wi-Fi with or without the app.

Connecting Alexa to Wi-Fi with the App:

If you’re using the Alexa app, go to the ‘Settings’ menu. You can find it by tapping the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner of the screen. After selecting settings, you will be taken to a menu with various options.

Next, select the “Device Settings” option and then select your Alexa device.

When in the device settings, tap ‘Change’ next to Wi-Fi Network. You can now choose the Wi-Fi network you want Alexa to connect to from the list of available networks.

Enter your Wi-Fi password and click ‘Connect’ to confirm the action. The Amazon Alexa device should connect to the Wi-Fi network automatically.

Once the connection is established, the Amazon Alexa device will show a white light to indicate that it’s connected to Wi-Fi.

Connecting Alexa to Wi-Fi Without the App:

Connecting Alexa to Wi-Fi without the app is also a straightforward process. Here’s how to do it:

Start by making sure that the Amazon Alexa device is turned on. You can tell if it’s on by checking if the light on the device is turned on.

Use a computer, smartphone, or tablet to access the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect to. Look for the network name in your device’s Wi-Fi settings.

Connect to the Wi-Fi network that you want Alexa to use. This step is important because your Alexa device has to be connected to the same network as your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Once you are connected to the Wi-Fi network, open a web browser and type in the URL “alexa.amazon.com” in the address bar.

It will take you to the Amazon Alexa login page. Enter your Amazon account credentials and sign in.

The next step is to select the ‘Settings’ option, then ‘Set up a New Device’ and finally, select ‘Amazon Echo.’

Follow the on-screen instructions and associate the Alexa device with your Amazon account.

Next, select the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect the Alexa device to, and enter the network password.

Confirm the Wi-Fi settings and wait for the Alexa device to finish connecting to the network.

Once connected, the Alexa device will show a white light indicating that it’s now connected to Wi-Fi.

Conclusion

Connecting your Amazon Alexa device to Wi-Fi is an easy process that can be done with or without the Alexa app. Depending on your preference, you can choose the suitable method that works best for you. If you experience any issues with the connection, make sure to check your Wi-Fi connectivity and security settings. With Alexa connected to Wi-Fi, you can enjoy all the features and functionalities of the smart speaker.
