How to Clean Dust From a Noisy PS4 in Simple Steps
As a gaming enthusiast, having a noisy PS4 can be a real bothering issue. On top of that, a dusty PS4 can also contribute to the overall noise level of the device, making your gaming experience less enjoyable. Luckily, cleaning the dust from your PS4 is a pretty easy task that you can do within minutes.
Here are the simple steps that you need to follow to clean dust from a noisy PS4:
Step 1: Shut down your PS4
Before you can start cleaning your PS4, you need to make sure that it is not turned ON. The system should be shut down completely, and you should unplug it from the power source.
Step 2: Disassemble your PS4
To clean dust efficiently from your PS4, you will need to disassemble the console. Unscrew the screws located on the back of the console and set aside the external case.
Step 3: Clean fan blades and dust filters
Once you have removed the external case, you will have access to the fan blades and dust filters. Use a soft brush or a microfiber cloth to clean the fan blades and the dust filters gently. Be sure to remove all the dust and debris that has accumulated on the filters because this is what reduces airflow and causes the PS4 to heat up, consequently slowing down the fan.
Step 4: Use a Vacuum Cleaner
After brushing off, use a vacuum cleaner’s nozzle or a can of compressed air to blow away any dust that might still be lodged in or around the PS4.
Step 5: Reassemble your PS4
Once everything is clean and free of dust and debris, put back the cover, screw it into position, and plug the PS4 back into power. Turn on the PS4 and test its fan. Notice the difference in the noise level generated by the system.
