Printing documents and photos wirelessly from an Apple device such as an iPhone, iPad or Mac has become a game-changer with the arrival of AirPrint. This feature is simple to use and allows users to print directly to printers that support AirPrint without the need for additional software or drivers. So, if you’re using the latest iOS or macOS version, you can benefit from this printing feature. However, to use AirPrint, your printer must have AirPrint support. Here’s how to check if your printer is AirPrint-enabled.

Step 1: Check the Manufacturer’s Website

The first place to look is on the manufacturer’s website. This is because they usually have a list of all the printers that support AirPrint. Go to the support section of the website and search for “AirPrint.” You’ll typically find a list of all the printers that support AirPrint. This way, you’ll quickly discover whether your printer is compatible or not.

Step 2: Check the Printer’s Manual

If you still have your printer manual or user guide, check the specifications section. Look for information about AirPrint, and you may find whether your printer is compatible or not. If you misplaced your manual, you can easily download a PDF copy from the manufacturer’s website.

Step 3: Check the Printer Itself

Most AirPrint-enabled printers have a logo that indicates they support AirPrint. Look for the “AirPrint” or “Print with AirPrint” logo affixed on the front of the printer. But, it’s important to note that not all printers have this logo, so don’t panic if your printer doesn’t have it. It may still be AirPrint-compatible.

Step 4: Use the Apple AirPrint Webpage

Apple has a website that lists all the AirPrint-enabled printers from different manufacturers. Start by visiting “http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311.” Once you’re on the webpage, click on “Printer and scanner software” to view the list. You can use the webpage to check if your printer is on the list. If it is, you’re in luck. If it’s not, it’s time to upgrade your printer.
