PayPal is one of the most popular payment platforms in the world. It enables users to transfer money online, pay for goods and services, and receive payments all around the world. With the prevalence of online fraud today, it’s important to ensure that your account is secured and your password is complex enough to prevent unauthorized access. In this article, we will guide you on how to change your PayPal password to keep your account safe.

Step 1: Log In to Your PayPal Account

The first step in changing your PayPal password is to log in to your account. Go to the PayPal website, enter your username and password, then click the “Log In” button. Once you’re logged in, click the “Settings” gear icon located in the top-right corner of the screen. This will take you to your account settings page.

Step 2: Navigate to Security

On the left-hand side of the account settings page, you’ll see a menu. Click the “Security” option. This will take you to the “Security and Privacy Settings” page.

Step 3: Click “Edit” Button

On the “Security and Privacy Settings” page, you’ll see a “Password” section. Click on the “Edit” button next to this section.

Step 4: Enter Your Old Password

Before you can change your PayPal password, you’ll need to verify your current password. Enter your old password in the field provided, then click the “Next” button.

Step 5: Enter Your New Password

Once you’ve verified your current password, you can enter your new password. You’ll need to enter it twice to confirm it. PayPal requires that your new password meets a certain strength level, so make sure you enter a strong, unique password.

Step 6: Save Your New Password

Once you’ve entered your new password, click the “Save” button. You should see a confirmation message that your password has been changed successfully, and you’ll be redirected to the account settings page.

It’s always a good idea to change your PayPal password frequently and make it complex enough that it cannot be easily guessed or hacked. Make sure your new password is not something that can be easily traced back to you, such as your birthdate or name. With these simple steps, you can easily change your PayPal password and keep your account secure.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
