How to Block Text Messages on an iPhone

There are various reasons why you may want to block text messages on your iPhone. Perhaps you’ve been getting spam messages that you’re tired of receiving or maybe you receive messages from a person that you no longer want to communicate with. Whatever the reason, blocking text messages is easy to do on your iPhone. In this article, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to blocking text messages on an iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Messages app

Here’s how to open the Messages app on your iPhone:

1. Press the Home button on your iPhone to go to the Home screen.
2. Tap the Messages app icon. It looks like a green chat bubble with a white background.

Step 2: Locate the message you want to block

Scroll through the messages in the app to find the message you want to block.

Step 3: Block the contact

Here’s how to block the contact:

1. Tap and hold the conversation with the contact you want to block.
2. Tap the “i” icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Scroll down and tap “Block this Caller.”
4. Confirm that you want to block the contact by tapping “Block Contact.”

Step 4: Block text messages from unknown numbers

If you’re receiving spam messages from unknown numbers, you can block these numbers too. Here’s how to do it:

1. Open the Messages app.
2. Tap the conversation with the unknown number.
3. Tap “i” in the upper right corner of the screen.
4. Scroll down and tap “Block this Caller.”
5. Confirm that you want to block the number by tapping “Block Contact.”

Step 5: Unblock contacts

If you want to unblock a contact or number, follow these steps:

1. Open the Phone app.
2. Tap “Recents” at the bottom of the screen.
3. Find the contact or number you want to unblock and swipe left on the entry.
4. Tap “Unblock” to unblock the contact or number.
