How to Anonymously View a LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn is one of the most popular social media platforms when it comes to professional networking. It is a great platform to connect with people who are in similar fields and who share similar interests.

However, what happens when we want to stay anonymous while searching through LinkedIn profiles? Maybe we are looking for potential job candidates, ex-colleagues or clients, or just curious about someone’s professional history. In such situations, we might not want the person to know that we were browsing their profile.

Here’s how to anonymously view a LinkedIn profile:

1. Start by logging out of your LinkedIn account. This means not signed in to any account.

2. In your web browser, open a new private or incognito window. This can usually be found in the settings or options menu of your browser.

3. Once in the private window, open the LinkedIn website.

4. Search for the person you are interested in viewing anonymously.

5. Click on their profile. You will be able to view their profile and see their public information without them knowing that you did.

6. However, some LinkedIn users might have their profiles set to private, meaning that only their connections can see their full profile information. In this case, you will only be able to see their name and profile picture.

7. While viewing the profile anonymously, make sure not to engage with any posts or sign up for any newsletters that might appear. Doing so may reveal your identity and make your browsing history public.

By following these simple steps, you can browse LinkedIn profiles anonymously and without the person knowing that you viewed their profile. However, if you want to get in touch with the person, you will have to sign in or create a LinkedIn account to send them a message or connection request.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
