Adding programs to startup in Windows 10 can save you time by automatically launching your favorite applications when you log in. This feature is especially useful for those who use the same programs every day, such as email clients or project management tools. In this article, we will take you through the step-by-step process of adding programs to startup on Windows 10.

Step 1: Open the Startup Folder

To begin, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, then type “shell:startup” in the Run box and hit “Enter.” This will open the Startup folder, which is where you will add the programs that you want to launch at startup.

Step 2: Locate the Shortcut

Next, locate the shortcut for the program that you want to add to startup. You can do this by searching for the program in the Start Menu, then right-clicking on it and selecting “Open file location.” This will take you to the folder that contains the program’s shortcut.

Step 3: Create a Shortcut

If the program does not have a shortcut, you can create one by right-clicking on the desktop or in the folder where the program is located and selecting “New” > “Shortcut.” Then, enter the path to the program’s executable file and give the shortcut a name.

Step 4: Copy the Shortcut

With the shortcut in place, select it and hit “Ctrl+C” to copy it to your clipboard.

Step 5: Paste the Shortcut in the Startup Folder

Go back to the Startup folder window that you opened in step 1 and hit “Ctrl+V” to paste the shortcut into the folder. This will add the program to the list of applications that will launch at startup.

Step 6: Test the Startup

Restart your computer to test whether the program launches automatically at startup. Once your computer has restarted, you should see the program open automatically.

In conclusion, adding programs to startup in Windows 10 is a simple and effective way to save time and boost productivity. By following these steps, you can easily add your favorite applications to startup and make your daily routine more efficient.
