Fans of the critically acclaimed Horizon series have been eagerly anticipating the next installment of the open-world adventure franchise, but it seems that Horizon 2 is taking a break from the spotlight for the time being.

The first Horizon game, Horizon Zero Dawn, released in 2017 to widespread acclaim, taking players on a thrilling journey through a post-apocalyptic world filled with robotic creatures and ancient ruins. The game’s unique blend of exploration, combat, and narrative depth captivated audiences worldwide, solidifying its place as one of the best games of the year.

Sequels, expansions, and spin-offs followed, building upon the foundations of the original game. However, the latest word from the developers at Guerrilla Games suggests that they are taking a step back from the Horizon franchise for the time being.

In a statement, Guerrilla Games announced that they are dedicating resources to exploring new projects and exploring new ideas, rather than focusing on the next installment of the Horizon series. This news has left fans of the franchise wondering what’s next for Aloy and the world of Horizon.

While this might be a disappointment to some, it’s worth noting that the break from the Horizon franchise is not a indication of the series’ lack of popularity or relevance. In fact, the games have consistently received high praise from critics and fans alike, making it a beloved franchise in the gaming world.

So, what’s next for Guerrilla Games? The studio has been tight-lipped about their new projects, but rumors suggest that they are exploring new genres and gameplay mechanics, possibly moving away from the open-world setting that has become synonymous with the Horizon series.

Fans of the franchise will undoubtedly be waiting with bated breath to see what’s next from Guerrilla Games. Will they continue to explore the world of Horizon, or will they venture into new and uncharted territories? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, fans of the series can take comfort in the fact that Horizon Zero Dawn remains an incredible game that continues to captivate audiences today. Whether you’re a new player or a seasoned veteran, there’s still plenty to explore and discover in the world of Horizon.

Here’s to hoping that Guerrilla Games will return to the Horizon franchise in the future, bringing with them new and exciting stories, characters, and gameplay mechanics that will delight fans of the series once again.
