Effective Building Strategies to Counter Ronin Attacks

In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, your building skills can be the difference between victory and defeat when facing a Ronin. These agile warriors excel at close-quarters combat, making effective building crucial for maintaining distance and gaining tactical advantages. This article will explore various building strategies to counter Ronin attacks effectively.

The first and most crucial building strategy is the quick 1×1 tower. When you spot a Ronin approaching, immediately start building a 1×1 structure upwards. This gives you height advantage and forces the Ronin to expose themselves while trying to reach you. Practice this build until you can do it reflexively, as speed is essential when a Ronin is closing in.

However, be wary of becoming too predictable with your 1×1 towers. Skilled Ronins may anticipate this and use their abilities to quickly scale or destroy your structure. To counter this, incorporate fake-outs into your building. Start a 1×1, but then rapidly expand it into a larger structure or quickly edit your way out in an unexpected direction.

The “High Ground Retake” is another essential technique. If a Ronin manages to get above you, you need to reclaim the high ground quickly. Practice techniques like the “90s” (quick vertical builds with 90-degree turns) and “Side Jumps” to outmaneuver your opponent and regain the height advantage.

Mastering edit plays is crucial when dealing with Ronins. Their close-range prowess means that if they get into your box, you’re at a severe disadvantage. Practice quick edits to create unexpected angles for shots or to make a hasty retreat. The “Mongraal Classic” – editing a window, taking a shot, and quickly resetting the wall – can be particularly effective against aggressive Ronins.

Utilize the “Boxfighting” technique to your advantage. Create a box around yourself and then use strategic edits to take shots at the Ronin while minimizing your exposure. This method allows you to control the engagement, forcing the Ronin to play at your pace rather than allowing them to rush you.

The “Tunnel” technique can be incredibly useful when you need to reposition while under pressure from a Ronin. Practice building and editing tunnels quickly to move across open areas safely. This not only protects you from the Ronin’s attacks but also from potential third-party interference.

Incorporate “Piece Control” into your building strategy. This involves placing building pieces in areas where you anticipate your opponent will move. By doing this, you can edit these pieces to your advantage, trapping the Ronin or creating unexpected angles for shots.

Don’t underestimate the power of pre-editing in your fights against Ronins. Pre-edited structures can be placed quickly, creating instant cover or complex structures that can confuse and disorient your opponent.

The “Waterfall” technique can be a lifesaver when a Ronin has the high ground. This involves building downwards rapidly while protected by your own structures. It allows you to safely descend from height without taking fall damage or exposing yourself to attacks.

Lastly, practice the “Fake Out” build. Start building in one direction, then suddenly change direction or drop down. This can throw off the Ronin’s predictions and give you a crucial moment to counter-attack.

Remember, the key to effective building against Ronins is unpredictability and speed. Mix up your strategies, and always be ready to adapt your building techniques based on the Ronin’s actions.

Incorporate these building strategies into your gameplay, and you’ll find yourself much better equipped to handle the threat of Ronins in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. With practice, these techniques will become second nature, allowing you to outmaneuver and outbuild even the most skilled Ronin opponents.
